Mother Marianne’s West Side Kitchen is providing Easter dinners to go on Sunday, Director Ed Morgan reported.

Volunteers will prepare the ham dinners, and pack them in to-go contains for patrons to pick up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

He said the soup kitchen served a total of 4,338 meals in March. Patrons included 2,897adults, 1,121 seniors, and 324 children. The number of senior citizens coming to the soup kitchen was up about 12 percent, Ed noted.

Overall numbers were average for March.

“Everything has been running well at the kitchen,” he said, despite the need to reduce the number of volunteers during the coronavirus state of emergency.
