May saw an uptick in meals being service at Mother Marianne’s West Side Kitchen — a total of 4,760, Director Ed Morgan reports.
Volunteers served 223 children, 866 senior citizens, and 3,661 adults.
In the last 11 months, he adds, the number of meals served hit 49,387.
“Everything is going great” with the new serving area – made possible by punching a huge hole in the wall that had separated the kitchen from the dining room. “The volunteers love it, the guests like it… The new system is working very well,” with an improved flow of foot traffic.
